Dr Adela Tomoni

Dr Adela Tomoni obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Timisoara in Romania in 2000 and completed her Fellowship with the Royal College of General Practitioners of Australia in 2013.

Dr Tomoni has extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of general practice and has a special interest in aged care and the unique health needs of older adults. With years of experience supporting patients through all stages of life, Dr Tomoni is particularly passionate about promoting healthy ageing, managing chronic conditions, and improving quality of life for seniors. Dr Tomoni has developed additional expertise in the care of older adults and provides compassionate and comprehensive healthcare tailored to the unique needs of older adults, including:

• Chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis
• Cognitive impairments, including memory loss and dementia
• Mobility issues and fall prevention
• Medication management and polypharmacy
• Frailty and functional decline
• Mental health support for depression and anxiety
• End of life and palliative care

Dr Adela Tomoni provides mobile services with visits to residential care facilities for convenient access to GP care. Telehealth consultations are also available upon request.

Dr Tomoni collaborates closely with geriatricians and other specialists, as well as the hospital teams (RADAR, OPEN, SPACE team) to ensure her patients receive comprehensive evaluations and management plans when needed. This collaborative approach allows her to address complex health issues effectively and coordinate care across multiple healthcare providers.

All consultations in RACF are Bulk Billed.

Communication is via the nursing team at the residential care facility to ensure the matters are appropriately triaged, taken into consideration that the facility has 24 hours nursing cover.

Please be aware that this email is not checked every day and if communication is urgent, it should be directed to the nursing team at the residential facility.

Test Results: All incoming results and correspondence will be addressed by Dr Tomoni at the resident’s next visit, however if the matter requires urgent attention Dr Tomoni will address the matter by either telehealth or afterhours consultation depending on the urgency.
